When it works: Crossbones win

crossbones

In October, I wrote about my first encounter with the Friends of Crossbones at a vigil for the outcast dead, and how they won me over with their dedication to protecting the site, and their compassion for the lost souls buried there over 150 years ago.

Well I’m thrilled to report that this week there has been some fantastic news for the campaign to preserve the site as a national landmark. Congratulations to John Constable, John Crow and all members of the Friends of Crossbones  community.

I very much hope that when Crossbones does become a memorial garden- the monthly vigils will continue, bringing friends and strangers together, from all walks of life- celebrating the lives of those who may have, or may still feel outcast from society.
